Cosmetology: Video Overview
Grade Level: 11, 12
Credits: 3 per year (1.5 per semester)

Duration: 1080 Hours: 540 hours (year-long) with an optional second-year 540-hour course available
Program Description: This 1080-hour course (Year 1 and 2) will supply students with basic salon operation, hair cutting, styling and coloring techniques. Students will be introduced to clients in the second half of the school year to improve their practical and professional skills.
Students earn hours toward Washington State Hair Design Certification (1400 hrs required). This program prepares students for a career in the cosmetology industry and helps prepare them for the state licensing exam.

Year One Course* - Junior or Senior standing
Year Two Course - B or better in Year 1 course and instructor's approval
