• Description: 

    This two-year construction pre-apprenticeship program is certified by the Washington State Trades and Apprenticeship Council.  This course covers both residential and commercial construction with an emphasis on job site safety.  Students are prepared for direct entry into an apprenticeship by meeting rigorous academic and industry standards.  All NEWTech Pre-Apprenticeship programs enable students to start on the pathway of becoming a trained professional in the building trades. Scholars can earn industry-recognized credentials.

     

    IN THIS PROGRAM YOU WILL:

    • Learn worksite safety
    • Learn how to safely use industry standard equipment 
    • Work independently and in teams in all aspects of construction

    Credits:

    Year 1 Coreplus Construction 3.0 credits (1.5 per semester)
    Any combination of the following that = 3.0 (1.5 max per semester)
    1.0 Lab Science (.5 max per semester)
    1.0 Language Arts (.5 max per semester)
    1.0 Math (.5 max per semester)
    3.0 Occupational or General Elective (1.0 max per semester)  

    Year 2 Construction Trades 3.0 credits (1.5 max per semester)
    3.0 Occupational or General Elective (1.5 max per semester)
