    Prerequisite(s): Junior or Senior standing

    Program Description: Learn back office medical procedures as well as medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and lab procedures. Clinical training in hospitals, clinics, and doctors’ offices is available. The class focuses on academic, technical skills, and employability practices. Students will develop personal and professional skills in the classroom that will transfer to the workplace.

    Certifications: NHA EKG certification, Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Electronic Health Records Specialist; CPR/First Aid; Blood Borne Pathogens/HIV

    Clinical Internship: Upon reaching proficiency in the above skills, students will be eligible to complete 10 hours/week in a health career setting. To complete this internship, students will need to comply with hospital guidelines set in place by Providence Health Care, including drug testing, background checks and vaccinations. Hospital policy requires the following:

    • Current TB vaccination
    • Hepatitis B or positive titer
    • MMR
    • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
    • Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis
    • Influenza
    • COVID 19
